Sister Ann Vencentia Snyder
Sister Ann Vencentia Snyder, S.S.J., formerly Marguerite L. Snyder, died Aug. 7, 2008. She was 89. She was the daughter of Claude F. Snyder and Anna G. Brady of Hanover. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph on Sept. 11, 1940 and began serving in the Archdioceses of Philadelphia and Newark and the Diocese of Harrisburg. A funeral Mass was celebrated Aug. 13. Burial followed at the Community Cemetery. She is survived by her sisters, Sister Rose Bernadette Snyder, S.S.J., Marian, and Catherine; her nieces and nephews; and her congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph.

Sister Rosemary O’Brien
Sister Rosemary O’Brien, S.S.J., formerly S. John Thomas, died July 7, 2008. She was 88. She was the daughter of John O’Brien and Elizabeth McCullough of Jersey City, N.J. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph on Sept. 10, 1947. She served in the Archdioceses of Philadelphia and Newark and the Dioceses of Camden and Allentown. She is predeceased by her brothers, Thomas, Jack, James and Frank, and her sisters, Eileen and Elizabeth. A funeral Mass was celebrated July 10 at St. Joseph Villa, Flourtown. Burial followed at the Community Cemetery. She is survived by her sister, Sister Francis Gervase, S.S.J., and her congregation, the sisters of St. Joseph.

Sister Ann Patrice Whearty
Sister Ann Patrice Whearty, S.S.J., formerly Anna Whearty, died Aug. 7, 2008. She was 90. She was born in Philadelphia to Patrick Whearty and Anna G. Smith. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph on Sept. 8, 1939. She served in the Archdioceses of Philadelphia, Newark and Washington, D.C. She is predeceased by her brothers John, James, William, Father Joseph Whearty and Father Francis Whearty; and her sisters, Helen, Marie and Catherine. A funeral Mass was celebrated Aug. 12. Burial followed at the Community Cemetery. She is survived by her nieces, nephews and her congregation, the Sisters of St. Joseph.

Sister Clare de Chantal Waldraff
Sister Clare de Chantal Waldraff, S.S.J., formerly Dolores Waldraff, died on July 17, 2008. She was 78. She was born in Philadelphia to Frank Waldroff and Marie Kackstie. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph on Sept. 13, 1951. She served in the Archdioceses of Philadelphia and Newark, and the Dioceses of Allentown and Camden. A funeral Mass was celebrated on July 25, 2008. Burial followed at the Community Cemetery. She is survived by her brother, Frank; her nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and her congregation, the Sisters of St. Joseph.
