Sister Mary Viterbia Kozlowski
Sister Mary Viterbia Kozlowski, formerly Ladislava Kozlowski, died on Aug. 13, 2008, in Lodi, N.J. She was 88. She entered the postulancy of the Felician Sisters in 1937. She made her first religious vows in 1939 and final vows in 1945. She earned a bachelor’s degree in music from the Manhattanville College of the Sacred Heart in Purchase, N.Y.; a master’s degree in English from Fordham University; and a doctorate in English from Temple University. She is survived by her nephews, Thomas, Donald, Robert, Jim, Leslie and William; her nieces, Janet, Rosemarie, Kathy and Lorraine; and members of her extended family. A funeral Mass was celebrated Aug. 18 at the Felician Sisters Infirmary Chapel in Lodi, N.J.

Frank P. Meliti
Frank P. Meliti died Nov. 27, 2008. He was 93. He was born Aug. 23, 1915, in West Philadelphia to the late Frank and Elizabeth (Turchi) Meliti. He attended St. Donato School and West Catholic High School for Boys. After graduating from West Catholic in 1934, he attended La Salle College and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1938. Meliti served in the Army Intelligence Quarters in World War II from 1943-1945. He was honorably discharged with three bronze stars and returned to Philadelphia, working in construction until 1967. After almost 30 years of building houses, he put his accounting degree to use and got a job working for the U.S. Government Defense Supply Center in Philadelphia. He retired in 1981. Meliti served as president and treasurer of Pennhurst Pals Athletic Club. He also served as president of the Sons of Italy Lodge 412. He was a Man of Malvern Retreat House for 55 years and an active member of St. Callistus Parish for over 50 years. He is predeceased by his brother, Chester Badoluto, and sisters, Victoria Battaglia and Rose Ruggieri. A funeral Mass was celebrated Dec. 1 at St. Pius X Church in Broomall. Internment followed at Holy Cross Cemetary, Yeadon. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Frances (Roffo); his children, Frances Armandi, Anthony and Frank; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
