Walk this way

WARMINSTER — Nativity of Our Lord School held its 20th Annual Walkathon fundraiser April 29 beginning at 10 a.m. on the school grounds.

The entire school student body of over 500 students from pre-K to eighth grade, faculty, and parents began with a brief rally in the school yard and walked together around the school grounds and around the adjoining Archbishop Wood High School property to raise money for projects sponsored by the Home & School Association. The route is approximately 1.0 mile.

Students were asked to solicit sponsors for the walk who may donate any amount. Students earned prizes based on the amount of donations collected. Additionally, each year students are asked to submit a drawing to be judged by the entire school that is used for the annual walkathon t-shirts that students and parents may purchase to mark the event.

The school mascot, the Nativity Tiger, led the walk. The top fundraising classroom won the opportunity to walk with the tiger to lead the walk. The event raised $9000 for the school’s technology program.
