Cardinal John Foley Regional Catholic School, Havertown, plans the following events:

Monday, Jan. 28

Parish Appreciation Day — At our morning prayer in the gym, we will say several prayers for the intentions of the parishioners of Annunciation and St. Denis parishes. Previously, the students will have signed a poster-size “thank you” card to each parish that will be displayed in the back of each church on Catholic Schools Week Sunday. These posters will mention that the student community will be praying for the parish and will be signed by the students.

Tuesday, Jan. 29

Community Appreciation Day — Each grade will be responsible for cleaning up a designated area of our school community: for example, the stairways, cafeteria, hallways, outdoor areas, the gym, wiping doorknobs with anti-bacterial wipes, etc. Younger grades may prefer to work in their own classrooms.

Hershey bars with Thank You, Neighbor notes will be delivered by school safeties, with teacher supervision, to the homes along the dismissal lanes such as St. Denis Lane and Poplar Road and to crossing guards, and bus drivers as well.

Wednesday, Jan. 30

Parent Appreciation Day — The students will compose a “thank you” card to parents focused on the appreciation their children have for their Catholic education. There will also be no homework given that night to ease the parents’ load that evening.

Thursday, Jan. 31

Teacher Appreciation Day — Teacher luncheon hosted by eighth graders in the cafeteria from noon to 1 p.m. Students eat in classrooms with parent supervision. No lunches ordered that day.

There will be an assembly for the students that morning in the gym sponsored by the Home and School Association.

Friday, Feb. 1

Volunteer/Student Appreciation Day — Prayer Partners stand together for prayer in the gym.

Dress-down day for students.

Cardinal Foley Spirit Song presentations, one per grade, will take place in the gym in the afternoon. Students will vote for their choice.

Volunteers will be honored at First Friday Mass.
