“Catholic Focus” is a current affairs program that examines issues affecting the Church and our society. To date, over 300 episodes have been produced tackling topics such as the stem cell question, the Catholic Church and AIDS, Islamic-Catholic relations and much more.

In this episode of “Catholic Focus,” host Cheridan Sanders speaks with Father Ron Schmidt of Hope Media Productions about the making of the documentary “The Labyrinth: The Testimony of Marian Kolodziej.” The documentary tells the story of Marian Kolodziej, an Auschwitz survivor who never spoke of his experience until 1993 after he suffered a serious stroke. Marian began rehabilitation by doing pen and ink drawings depicting his horrific experience naming the body of artwork he created, The Labyrinth. The documentary is the winner of the Redemptive Story Teller Award, Reel Rose Award JP II International Film Festival.

“Vatican Connections” gives viewers insight into the latest headlines coming out of the Holy See, and highlights the history, traditions and grandeur of the seat of the papacy.

This week Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI returned to Vatican City to take up permanent residence at the Mater Ecclesia monastery located in the Vatican Gardens. We have those details in this weeks’ program. Plus we take the opportunity to look back over the first several weeks of Pope Francis’ pontificate.
