Archbishop Charles Chaput will join a panel of local theologians at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary to discuss the mission of the family during “The Cardinals’ Forum” on Monday, Aug. 25 at 7 p.m. at the seminary, located at 100 East Wynnewood Road, Wynnewood.
The forum is an annual event designed to highlight the beginning of the academic year at the seminary.
Bishop Timothy Senior, rector, will open the session with a prayer, followed by three speakers and a discussion titled “The Vocation and Mission of the Family in the Church and in the World.” The discussion will be moderated by Father Robert Pesarchick, new vice president of academic affairs at the seminary.
The panel’s participants include Archbishop Chaput, Redemptorist Father Dennis Billy (the John Cardinal Krol Chair of Moral Theology at the seminary) and Oblate Father Thomas Dailey (the John Cardinal Foley Chair of Social Communications at the seminary).
Members of the audience will have the opportunity to engage the speakers in the discussion.
Help keep Catholic media free, support CatholicPhilly.com
You may have noticed “pay walls” greeting you when you visit the websites of newspapers and magazines, both large and small. These mechanisms allow you to read a few articles for free before you’ve got to pay an annual fee if you want to see more.
You won’t find a pay wall on CatholicPhilly.com because we’re more than a news organization. We’re informing, inspiring and forming readers in the Catholic faith every day through the news, features and commentaries that we post on this site and share across social media.
It costs money to provide high-quality coverage of the local Catholic communities we primarily serve, while also distributing national and world news of interest to Catholics, plus the orthodox teachings of the Catholic faith.
Help us in this mission by making a single gift of $40, $50, $100, or more. Your gift will strengthen the fabric of our entire Catholic community.
