Bill Donaghy offers a presentation on St. John Paul II’s writings on love, responsibility and sexuality.

Local Catholic evangelist and teacher Bill Donaghy was the speaker at the first session of the Culture Project’s five-week series for young adults last Thursday, March 2, at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary.

The series examines professor Edward Sri’s summary of St. John Paul II’s writing on love and responsibility titled “Men, Women, and the Mystery of Love.” It is billed as a practical guide to understanding and putting into practice the saint’s teachings on sexuality.

The five-week series is geared for singles and couples in their 20s and 30s and runs Thursday evenings through March 30 at the seminary. Each study session is followed by a night out for drinks and fellowship.

As Sri has written, “Beware … John Paul II’s vision of love is so captivating that it may change the way you think about love, friendship, and relationships as a whole. If taken to heart … (it) will change the way you interact with the opposite sex and the way you date: it will make you a better husband or wife.”

The Culture Project, according to its website, is an initiative of young people working to restore culture through the experience of virtue. In the work of local chapters including in the Philadelphia region, members proclaim the dignity of the human person and the richness of living sexual integrity, inviting the culture to become fully alive.
