St. Charles Borromeo Seminary will host the Cardinal’s Forum to discuss “The Gift of the Priestly Vocation” and the journey of priestly formation on Monday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. in the seminary’s Vianney Hall Auditorium.
The Cardinal’s Forum is an annual gathering that advances the academic formation of seminary students and provides continuing education for the lay faithful about a topic of contemporary concern.
Bishop Timothy Senior, seminary rector, will open the conference with remarks followed by viewpoints on the topic given by Dr. John Haas on behalf of the John Cardinal Krol Chair of Moral Theology, Oblate Father Thomas Dailey on behalf of the John Cardinal Foley Chair of Homiletics and Social Communications and concluding with a talk by Archbishop Charles Chaput.
Discussion among the presenters will be moderated by Father Robert Pesarchick, vice-president for academic affairs at the seminary. A discussion with the audience will begin at 8:25 p.m.
The event is sponsored jointly by the John Cardinal Krol Chair of Moral Theology and the John Cardinal Foley Chair of Homiletics and Social Communications, both of St. Charles Seminary.
Help keep Catholic media free, support CatholicPhilly.com
You may have noticed “pay walls” greeting you when you visit the websites of newspapers and magazines, both large and small. These mechanisms allow you to read a few articles for free before you’ve got to pay an annual fee if you want to see more.
You won’t find a pay wall on CatholicPhilly.com because we’re more than a news organization. We’re informing, inspiring and forming readers in the Catholic faith every day through the news, features and commentaries that we post on this site and share across social media.
It costs money to provide high-quality coverage of the local Catholic communities we primarily serve, while also distributing national and world news of interest to Catholics, plus the orthodox teachings of the Catholic faith.
Help us in this mission by making a single gift of $40, $50, $100, or more. Your gift will strengthen the fabric of our entire Catholic community.
