Some thoughts on the course of Catholic-Jewish relations
Meeting with the Jewish Community Relations Council, American Jewish Committee and Anti-Defamation League, Philadelphia, July 11, 2013 It’s a pleasure to be here today, and I’m grateful to Adam Kessler and everyone involved in arranging this event for inviting me. I had the privilege of a very good friendship with the Jewish community in Colorado during my years as archbishop of Denver. That included a great working relationship with the American Jewish Committee, and on-going contacts with the Rocky Mountain Rabbinical Council and the Anti-Defamation League.

Wisdom is the pursuit of the true, the right and the lasting. In the record of Scripture and the witness of the Church, all these things find their source in God, and nowhere else but God.
Junipero Serra and his witness for today
Archbishop Charles Chaput spoke at the Serra International Convention June 22 in Mallorca, Spain. Francis of Assisi was not a man known for his dissembling about the Gospel. And Junipero Serra, his spiritual son, had the same burning zeal in all things related to Jesus Christ. The key question facing every Christian in every age isn’t whether the Christian faith is socially useful, or consoles us when we’re sad, or makes us nicer people. The key question is whether our faith is true.
