Perfect love described by Jesus is same love the Father has for us

The communion that Jesus establishes is profound. He speaks of the union of believers with believers in terms of His being “in” the Father and the Father being “in” Him. The communion is based on love. The love God shares with us and the love we share with one another. Love is the bond of unity.

The bombings in Boston two weeks ago were a tragic reminder of the fragility of human life. So many injured by a man-made object aimed at the destruction of body and spirit. Yet at the same time the response in charity of so many people in Boston and around the country offers us a witness to love.
