Sister Marie Isabel Carpio-More, I.H.M., 75, served in her native South America in many capacities, especially in education, until seeking medical treatment in the U.S. in 2016.

Formerly known as Sister Margaret Alphonsus, the graduate of St. Joachim School and Little Flower High School in Philadelphia served with the of the Sisters of St. Joseph since 1950.

The Sister of St. Joseph attended St Stephen School and Little Flower High School before entering the congregation in 1954. She served in the archdioceses of Philadelphia and Washington.
Sister Manetto Ruocchio, longtime Catholic school teacher, dies at 93
The South Philadelphia native had been a member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia for 72 years. With undergraduate and graduate degrees she taught for many years in several dioceses.
