Sister Ildephonse Mary, I.H.M., formerly Angela McDevitt, died in Camilla Hall Aug. 30 in the 74th year of her religious life. She was 91.

Born in Reading, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1937 from St. Joseph Parish in Reading, and professed her first vows in 1940.

She received her bachelor’s degree from Immaculata University. She taught at elementary and secondary schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and the Diocese of Allentown. Her last assignment was St. William Parish in Philadelphia where she taught music for 16 years.

In 2004 she retired to Camilla Hall was the apostolate of prayer.

She was predeceased by her parents, William and Anna Henke McDevitt; her brothers, Father Charles, Bernard, William, Anthony, George and Leonard, and her sister, Sister Marian McDevitt, I.H.M.

The funeral Mass was celebrated at Camilla Hall in Immaculata Sept. 3. Interment followed in the Immaculata Cemetery.
