Sister Raymond Mary Cline, R.S.M., formerly Nora Josephine Cline, died Dec. 26 at McAuley Convent in Merion Station. She was 78.

After graduating from Little Flower High School, She worked as a secretary at Bell Telephone. She professed her vows as a Sister of Mercy in 1957. She received a bachelor’s degree from Villanova University and master’s degree from Rider College.

She taught at Maternity B.V.M. and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel schools in Philadelphia, at St. John Baptist de la Salle School in Shillington, and served as chair of the business department at Archbishop Wood High School.

In 1973 she began 35 years of service to Mercy Vocational High School, teaching business education. She later moved into the career services department where she worked as an assistant to the director of cooperative education.

She also taught at schools in Nesquehoning, Pa. and Havelock, N.C.

She retired to McAuley Convent in 2010 to a ministry of prayer.

She was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Nora Moran Cline.

A funeral Mass was celebrated Dec. 29, 2011. Interment was at the Community Cemetery.

She is survived by a sister, Dorothy Lange; two brothers, Raymond and Leonard, and nieces and nephews.
