SS. Simon and Jude Parish in West Chester held its annual Vacation Bible Camp on Sunday, July 21.  The theme this year was “One Day Fun Day Sunday” since unlike other years it was a one-day event for children ages 3 to 12 years and their families.  Due to renovations being done in the school where the camp is usually held, the camp was reduced from five days to one.

The day began with campers attending the 12 noon Mass where the Gospel challenged everyone to be like Martha and Mary who were friends of Jesus.

Adult and teenage volunteers from the parish led arts and crafts activities, which included cross necklaces and prayer journals.  Egg hunts, water balloon tosses and water sponge relay races provided fun in the outdoors.  The closing activity was a “summer-y” slideshow of past camps and a live concert from the campers.
