Archbishop Chaput, Gov. Corbett, Mayor Nutter and other leaders from the region are personally inviting Pope Francis to come to Philadelphia next year for the World Meeting of Families.
Now you can join in making a pitch for the pope to join the celebration in September 2015.
The Archdiocese of Philadelphia is asking everyone to share information through their social media channels by connecting with the World Meeting of Families on Facebook at Eighth World Meeting of Families; Twitter at WMF2015; Instagram at WMF2015; and Google+ WorldMeetingofFamilies. Spread the news by sharing and retweeting information posted on these social media pages.
The archdiocese has partnered with Visit Philly and both are attempting to get the hashtag #PopeInPhilly trending on Twitter March 25 and 26, the last day of the delegation’s visit to Rome when they are expected to meet with Pope Francis.
Everyone is invited to send their own tweet asking the pope @Pontifex to experience Philadelphia using the hashtag #PopeInPhilly or retweet one of the many people and organizations that have already tweeted using the hashtag.
Excitement is already building around the World Meeting of Families event, which is expected to draw tens of thousands of people to Philadelphia from more than 150 countries.
