The 12th annual Crusader Classic 5K Run and one mile fun walk to benefit the Lt. Robert Neary Scholarship Fund will be held Sunday, Oct. 5 at 9 a.m., rain or shine.
Funds raised by the Crusader Classic 5K Run, with the goal to raise $10,000, are used to provide partial scholarships to deserving students who may otherwise be unable to attend Father Judge High School.
Race day registration will be held in the Father Judge parking lot beginning at 7:30 a.m.
Entry fees are $30 for adults and $15 for students. This year $5 of each adult entry will go to the Semper Fi Foundation.
Blankets will also be collected for Kensington’s St. Francis Inn, which aids the poor and homeless. Blankets may be dropped off in the Father Judge schoolyard between 10 and 11 a.m.
Medals will be presented to the first through third place male and female age group finishers. The awards ceremony will be held in the school parking lot following the run.

Help keep Catholic media free, support CatholicPhilly.com
You may have noticed “pay walls” greeting you when you visit the websites of newspapers and magazines, both large and small. These mechanisms allow you to read a few articles for free before you’ve got to pay an annual fee if you want to see more.
You won’t find a pay wall on CatholicPhilly.com because we’re more than a news organization. We’re informing, inspiring and forming readers in the Catholic faith every day through the news, features and commentaries that we post on this site and share across social media.
It costs money to provide high-quality coverage of the local Catholic communities we primarily serve, while also distributing national and world news of interest to Catholics, plus the orthodox teachings of the Catholic faith.
Help us in this mission by making a single gift of $40, $50, $100, or more. Your gift will strengthen the fabric of our entire Catholic community.
