The National Shrine of St. Rita of Cascia at 1166 South Broad Street in South Philadelphia is hosting a Novena of Healing Masses on the third Sunday of each month through May 2015.
The next Mass will be celebrated Sunday, Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. in the shrine’s upper church, with confessions starting at 1 p.m. in the lower shrine. The celebrant is Augustinian Father Luis Vera.
The healing Mass will include an anointing with holy oil, recitation of the St. Rita novena prayers and veneration of the St. Rita relic. All are welcome to offer intercessory prayers to the saint for for physical, emotional and spiritual healing.
Upcoming Mass in the novena at the shrine are Dec. 21; and Jan. 18, Feb. 15, March 15, April 19 May 17, 2015.
