In celebration of the World Meeting of Families to take place in Philadelphia, the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia invite all families to come meet the sisters and to take a tour of Our Lady of Angels Convent in Aston.
The event will be held on Sunday, Feb. 8 from 2 to 4 p.m. and will include a short historical presentation and a tour of the motherhouse followed by light refreshments. Attendees will also have the chance to speak to several sisters and get to know more about the Franciscan way of life.
The tour is being offered in connection with the 2015 Year of Consecrated Life, “Wake up the World,” which Pope Francis promulgated to take place from Nov. 29, 2014, until Feb. 2, 2016, the World Day of Consecrated Life. The purpose of this special year, as stated by the Vatican, is to “make a grateful remembrance of the recent past” while embracing “the future with hope.”

Help keep Catholic media free, support CatholicPhilly.com
You may have noticed “pay walls” greeting you when you visit the websites of newspapers and magazines, both large and small. These mechanisms allow you to read a few articles for free before you’ve got to pay an annual fee if you want to see more.
You won’t find a pay wall on CatholicPhilly.com because we’re more than a news organization. We’re informing, inspiring and forming readers in the Catholic faith every day through the news, features and commentaries that we post on this site and share across social media.
It costs money to provide high-quality coverage of the local Catholic communities we primarily serve, while also distributing national and world news of interest to Catholics, plus the orthodox teachings of the Catholic faith.
Help us in this mission by making a single gift of $40, $50, $100, or more. Your gift will strengthen the fabric of our entire Catholic community.
