Christ the King Parish in Northeast Philadelphia will offer a parish mission for the Year of Mercy from Sunday, Feb. 21 through Tuesday, Feb. 23 at the church in the Morrell Park neighborhood, Morrell Avenue and Chesterfield Road, Philadelphia.
The “Bible-fed and Spirit-led” mission’s theme is “With the Lord, There is Mercy and Fullness of Redemption.”
It will be led by Redemptorist Father Maurice J. Nutt, director of the Institute for Black Catholic Studies at Xavier University in Louisiana. He was formerly a member of the Redemptorist mission preaching team and a parish pastor.
He will speak at all Masses at Christ the King the weekend preceding the mission, including Saturday, Feb. 20 at 5 p.m.; and Sunday, Feb. 21 at 8 and 10 a.m., and 12 noon.
The mission begins at 4 p.m. on the 21st and continues at 7 p.m. each night on the 22nd and 23rd of February.

Help keep Catholic media free, support CatholicPhilly.com
You may have noticed “pay walls” greeting you when you visit the websites of newspapers and magazines, both large and small. These mechanisms allow you to read a few articles for free before you’ve got to pay an annual fee if you want to see more.
You won’t find a pay wall on CatholicPhilly.com because we’re more than a news organization. We’re informing, inspiring and forming readers in the Catholic faith every day through the news, features and commentaries that we post on this site and share across social media.
It costs money to provide high-quality coverage of the local Catholic communities we primarily serve, while also distributing national and world news of interest to Catholics, plus the orthodox teachings of the Catholic faith.
Help us in this mission by making a single gift of $40, $50, $100, or more. Your gift will strengthen the fabric of our entire Catholic community.
