The Global Catholic Climate Movement and the Catholic Climate Covenant celebrate the first anniversary of Pope Francis’ first encyclical on the environment next week, June 12-19.
Sister Mary Elizabeth Clark, S.S.J., invites Catholic parishes are asked to read the encyclical “Laudato Si’” (“On Care for Our Common Home”), and to share what they are doing with others around the world by going to the organizations’ websites.
GlobalCatholicClimateMovement.org and CatholicClimateCovenant.org offer ideas for how Catholic parishes can pray, learn, act and advocate on behalf of creation.
Sister Clark is director of the Sisters of St. Joseph’s Earth Center in Philadelphia’s Germantown section and the local ambassador for the Catholic Climate Covenant.
