Sister Patricia Ann Marnien, S.S.J. (formerly Sister Joseph Patrick), died May 28 at St. Joseph Villa, Flourtown. She was 81 years old and in the 63rd year of her religious life.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Victor Leo and Grayce E. Gross Marnien. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph, Chestnut Hill, from St. Leo Parish in September 1954 and professed final vows in August 1957. She ministered in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and the dioceses of Allentown, Camden and Harrisburg.
She is survived by her brother Victor Marnien and her sister Eileen O’Sullivan. Also survived by nieces, nephews and members of her congregation, the Sisters of St. Joseph.
Her funeral Mass was celebrated June 2 at St. Joseph Villa.
