Parishioners receive flowers on Father’s Day from members of St. Thomas More Parish’s 50th jubilee committee. The parish’s year-long anniversary will conclude with a May 2019 Mass to be celebrated by Archbishop Charles Chaput.

St. Thomas More Parish honored its fathers as part of a year-long 50th anniversary celebration.

On Father’s Day, jubilee committee members joined the Knights of Columbus and its Ladies Auxiliary to present fathers with several gifts after all of the weekend Masses — including red carnations, St. Joseph medals, and St. Joseph prayer cards. The Knights of Columbus also provided refreshments.

The parish’s jubilee year, which began in May, will feature a number of activities and events, including a parish picnic in September, a ministry fair and bingo night in October and a founding members commemoration Mass in November.

The anniversary will culminate with a jubilee Mass to be celebrated on May 19, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. by Archbishop Charles Chaput.

The first Mass at St. Thomas More Parish was celebrated on June 5, 1968. All previous and present parishioners are invited to share in the jubilee year festivities.
