A series offered by the Mother Boniface Spirituality Center will focus on 10 hymns found in the New Testament that express the faith of the first believers in Christ.
“A New Testament Hymnal,” an Advent Bible study, will examine the words used by early Christians to express the the mystery of the Incarnation, and God’s plan of loving goodness and salvation.
The series will be presented by Sister Sara Butler, MSBT, S.T.L., Ph.D. , who has been a seminary professor of theology and is currently a consultant to the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization.
The sessions will take place on Tuesday evenings from 7 – 8:30 p.m. at the Mother Boniface Spirituality Center, located at 3501 Solly Avenue, Philadelphia, Pa., 19136. The series begins on Tuesday, Nov. 27 and ends on Dec. 18.
Admission is free, but a free will offering will be accepted. Participants are asked to call 267-350-1831 or email firstname.lastname@example.org at least one day ahead of each session.
Help keep Catholic media free, support CatholicPhilly.com
You may have noticed “pay walls” greeting you when you visit the websites of newspapers and magazines, both large and small. These mechanisms allow you to read a few articles for free before you’ve got to pay an annual fee if you want to see more.
You won’t find a pay wall on CatholicPhilly.com because we’re more than a news organization. We’re informing, inspiring and forming readers in the Catholic faith every day through the news, features and commentaries that we post on this site and share across social media.
It costs money to provide high-quality coverage of the local Catholic communities we primarily serve, while also distributing national and world news of interest to Catholics, plus the orthodox teachings of the Catholic faith.
Help us in this mission by making a single gift of $40, $50, $100, or more. Your gift will strengthen the fabric of our entire Catholic community.
