The Mother Boniface Spirituality Center will offer two workshops to help participants trace the presence of God in Scripture and in one’s life calling.

“Lectio Divina: Prayerful Reading of the Scriptures” will take place on Sept. 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Father Peter Akpunonu will guides attendees to a deeper and more prayerful reading of the Scriptures in a way that is not mere acquisition of knowledge, but hearing the Word of God and immersing oneself in the inspiration of the Holy Spirit at its very source.

The day will include the celebration of Eucharist. The $35 fee includes a noon luncheon. Registration, including a $15 deposit, is due by Sept. 6.

Young women aged 18 and older are invited to attend “Called to Serve,” the center’s 2019 vocational discernment retreat, on Sept. 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The gathering will feature prayer, discussion, activities and the chance to address questions about religious life. A $15 donation is requested, which includes breakfast and lunch.

The Mother Boniface Spirituality Center is located at 3501 Solly Avenue in Philadelphia.
