As you read this, what’s left of the Thanksgiving turkey is sitting in a refrigerator, and Thursday’s football games have become just a memory. Presuming that gratitude was given to God for His gifts before the first glass was raised or potatoes were passed, this time after Thanksgiving Day presents a challenge. Whether we are of humble means or abundantly blessed, there are people very much among us who need some of the good food and company we shared with loved ones this week.
If means allow, consider making an extra donation now to area food banks. Archdiocesan Nutritional Development Services (ndsarch.org) can tell how. And archdiocesan Catholic Social Services (css-phl.org) can offer ways to make the lives of our brothers and sisters in need a little brighter.
