WEST CHESTER – The parents, educators, parishioners and community members of SS. Peter and Paul Parish in West Chester gathered Nov. 12 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the parish school and religious education center.

The school officially opened in September 2001 with classes for students in pre-school, kindergarten and grades one through three. At the same time, the religious education center opened, which provides religious education classes and sacrament preparation to all children in the parish in grades kindergarten through eight.

Since opening under the guidance of former pastor Msgr. James J. Foley and former principal Nancy Heim, SS. Peter and Paul School now serves students from pre-k through grade eight. Four eighth grade classes have graduated from the school to date.

Msgr. Daniel J. Kutys, pastor of SS. Peter and Paul Parish, and Margaret Egan, the school’s principal, led the 10th anniversary gala dinner and dance at Penn Oaks Golf Club in West Chester. The event was organized by members of the Home and School Association and its president, Colin Hueston.
