DEVON – Devon Prep’s student council kicked off Catholic Schools Week Jan. 31 by sponsoring the First Annual Student vs. Faculty Academic Challenge in the gym. The student team was comprised of juniors and seniors who currently participate on Devon Prep’s Academic Challenge Team. The faculty team included math, science and language teachers who volunteered to take part in this event.
The competition followed the format of the Chester County Intermediate Unit’s High School Academic Challenge Competition with both teams trying to answer as many questions correctly as possible, and subsequently earning the most points. With the entire student body watching, the faculty team got off to a slow start, trailing the students briefly in the first round. However, they quickly recovered and won the competition 195 – 115 after three rounds.
