St. Ignatius of Antioch Parish in Yardley presents a classical Christmas concert featuring award-winning musicians and singers performing traditional Christmas carols and holiday music in “A Classical Christmas” on Friday, Nov. 30 at 7:30 PM in the church at 999 Reading Avenue, Yardley.

The concert features singers who have toured the world from Notre Dame Cathedral to the New York City Opera and beyond. They will be backed by a world-class orchestra conducted by Wilbur Wittemann of Lakewood, N.J.

The orchestra is comprised of musicians from the Philadelphia Pops, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the New Jersey Symphony and the major theaters of Broadway and Atlantic City.

“A Classical Christmas” is the latest concert production by James Gafgen and Barbara Wayman of Bucks County. The pair launched their effort over 15 years ago to produce professional concert fundraisers for local and national charities.

Gafgen has performed extensively with the Mozart Festival of Philadelphia. He had the honor of singing at The Meadowlands prior to the Three Tenors Concert featuring Luciano Pavarotti.

Wayman has been a leading soprano with the Princeton Opera, the Trenton Civic Opera and the Muhlenberg Summer Theater Festival. She is the recipient of several voice scholarships and awards from the Philadelphia University of the Arts and Muhlenberg College, and was accepted to the acclaimed Peabody Institute of Baltimore. She apprenticed in opera and production at the New York City Opera under the direction of Beverly Sills.
