Dominican Sister Mary Rosario DiBello, formerly Rose DiBello, died March 11 at the Motherhouse of the Dominican Sisters of Peace in Columbus, Ohio. She was 89 years old.
Born in Philadelphia, she entered the Dominican Sisters in July 1948 and made her first profession of vows Feb. 13, 1951. Sister Rosario taught in Media, Delaware County, and Havana, Cuba; Miami, Fla.; Grand Rapids, Mich.; and Walton, N.Y. She also served as the archivist of the congregation.
Sister Rosario was an accomplished artist and art educator with a master’s degree in fine arts in art from the Catholic University of America.
She was preceded in death by her siblings Ciro, Elizabeth and Mary. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and the members of her religious community who mourn her passing.
