“Summer Witness and Prayer,” the second annual pro-life summit of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, featured Archbishop Charles Chaput as celebrant for Mass on the morning of July 20 at the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul, Philadelphia.
The day began with prayer outside Philadelphia Women’s Center on Appletree St. Following Mass, participants met at the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center to hear a series of talks by speakers including Ted Meehan on the legal and judicial aspects of the HHS mandate; John DiCamillo on the ethical ramifications of the mandate for employers; and Dr. Bill Williams on the effects of abortion upon women.
The day-long conference for Catholics and others who are active locally in the pro-life movement was sponsored by the archdiocesan Office for Life and Family.
