Jesuit Father John M. Braverman will present “God and Evolution,” a discussion regarding a deeper human appreciation for creation and human origins, on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. in the Parish Center at St. Hilary Church, Rydal. The talk is hosted by the Faith Enrichment Group of St. Hilary Parish.

Father Braverman is assistant professor in the Department of Biology at St. Joseph’s University. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, he is a member of the Maryland Province of the Society of Jesus and has been a Jesuit since 1998. He was ordained to the priesthood in 2009. His areas of academic expertise include genetics, evolution and the dialogue between theology and science.

Parish organizers of the conference recommend participants read Genesis 1-3, Psalm 8 and Psalm 104 from the Bible prior to attending the presentation.
