Malvern Retreat House is hosting an art show titled “Abstraction — What’s the Attraction?” featuring 15 abstract artists through Sunday, Feb. 2.
A complimentary wine and cheese social will be held at the retreat house, located at 315 South Warren Avenue in Malvern, from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31. Hours of the show are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
The show features more than 100 juried artists’ fine art pieces for sale. Various media include painting, sculpture, photography, jewelry, glasswork and ceramics.

Artists include Lore Evans using glass as a medium, Bob Richey working in pastels and Marion Mackey working in textiles.
Also showcased is Lynnette Shelley from Ambler, who uses influences of mythology and folklore in many of her mixed media paintings. Shelley’s dynamic artwork has received wide recognition.
A portion of the sales will benefit Malvern Retreat House. There is no Pennsylvania sales tax and 35 percent of all artwork sales are tax deductible.
