Boston Cardinal Sean O’Malley will celebrate a Mass on the United States-Mexico border to commemorate the estimated 6,000 people who have died migrating in the desert since 1998 on Tuesday, April 1 at 9 a.m. in Nogales, Arizona.
He will also pray for comprehensive immigration reform.
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Justice for Immigrants campaign encourages everyone to take part in the Mass from home, where they can view it online at the campaign’s website.
People are invited to pray the rosary for immigrants in the U.S. and for those who have died in their journey here; to fast during the day while reflecting on immigration reform; to send an electronic postcard to their member of Congress; and to call the toll-free number 1-855-589-5698 to ask their member of Congress to support a path to citizenship.
