Dear Deacon,
I’m confused by your labeling what happened in the schoolyard as a sin. It seems to me that an accident is not something done intentionally. I find it hard to see the sin here. Please help with my confusion.
Thanks,
Larry Petrone
Larry, thank you for your question. The reason that there was sin involved was because my buddies and I were not allowed to play baseball on the Church parking lot. This was because of the risk of breaking a window. We disobeyed and played anyway. Had we been allowed to play there, then as you correctly point out, breaking the window would have been an accident.
God bless.
Deacon Mike
