About 500 people in the Latino community of the Philadelphia Archdiocese came to a series of concerts for families on the theme of evangelization. The concerts were held on two days last month at St. Martin of Tours Church in Northeast Philadelphia and St. Rocco Church in Avondale, Chester County.

The archdiocesan Office for Hispanic Catholic sponsored the concerts titled “Come and Fill Your Family with the Love of God.”

Silvia Mariella, a Paraguay-born singer/songwriter and an internationally recognized personality, led the events in testimony, meditation and music. She brought her Catholic witness to the Hispanic communities and spoke about the importance of the word of God, reconciliation and the Eucharist.

Kathia Arango, director of the Hispanic Catholics office, called the events “a wonderful opportunity to share our faith and to celebrate the gift of family in our communities.”

“People of all ages — grandparents, parents and children — had a great time together,” Arango said. “We all have experienced Christ in our brothers and sisters.”
