St. Maria Goretti Parish will host author Marie Monville, the widow of the man who in 2006 took hostages and shot 10 girls in an Amish one-room schoolhouse before killing himself.
The lecture is Monday, Nov. 2 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in St. Maria Goretti Church located at Cowpath and Derstine Roads in Hatfield, Montgomery County.
Monville, author of “One Light Still Shines: My Life Beyond the Shadow of the Amish School Shooting,” will explain the Amish community’s response of love and forgiveness after the tragedy, and her personal experience of faith and hope.
She will have books available for purchase and signing. The event is free with refreshments following, and donations will be accepted.
