Members of the Don Guanella Communities and Divine Providence Village gathered Oct. 24 with former residents, family members and caregivers at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Secane, Delaware County, to celebrate the feast day of St. Don Guanella. The Mass was celebrated by several priests including Servant of Charity Father Dennis Weber, who has served the Don Guanella community for over 20 years, and Msgr. Richard Bolger, who was the main celebrant and homilist. After Mass, all the attendees shared lunch in a large tent on the lot.
Our Lady of Fatima is the location for Don Guanella Village Day Programs, run by Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, which provides recreational, social and spiritual enrichment programming for adults with mental retardation who live at home or in CSS’ community group homes.
