The multicultural Northeast Philadelphia parish got its parishioners involved in telling the story of Jesus’ birth inside and outside the church, with costumes, songs and good will for all, Dec. 17. The annual las posadas celebration, popular with Mexican Catholics, extended not only to English-speaking and Spanish-speaking parishioners, but also to those of Haitian and Pakistani heritage, all of whom sang Christmas carols in their language to celebrate the Nativity of the Lord.
