At the Mass on Holy Thursday, April 13 at the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul in Philadelphia, Archbishop Charles Chaput was the main celebrant during which, in imitation of Jesus at the last supper, he washed the feet of 12 seminarians from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. The Mass celebrates the institution of the holy Eucharist and begins the sacred triduum, the three holiest days of the church’s liturgical year. They prayerfully recall the passion, crucifixion and death of Jesus, ahead of the celebration of his resurrection at Easter. (Photos by Sarah Webb)
