We like to scare ourselves, in fun, at Halloween, which has made fear a big business. Father Matt Guckin takes a look at fear today, especially the phrase “fear of the Lord” that appears some 300 times in the Bible. Loving God with everything we’ve got is nothing to be afraid of, but we should have a healthy fear of offending God. That’s the medicine, the gift of the Spirit, that conquers all fear, even of death.
