40 Days for Life, an international pro-life movement, will hold a March 6 vigil at the Philadelphia Women’s Center to pray for an end to abortion.

The vigil will begin at 8 a.m. as part of the organization’s annual 40-day campaign that includes prayer, fasting and peaceful community outreach. The campaign, designed to coincide with Lent, is inspired by the biblical 40-day periods during which God transformed individuals, such as Noah and Moses, as well as the disciples after Christ’s resurrection.
