Graduating seniors from the 17 archdiocesan high schools in the Philadelphia Archdiocese earned a record cumulative amount of college scholarships this year totaling more than $396 million. Representative students from the schools gathered May 31 at the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center in Philadelphia to celebrate the achievement.

Joining students at the announcement of the cumulative scholarships earned by the archdiocesan class of 2019 were (from left) Irene Horstmann Hannan, chief executive officer of Faith in the Future Foundation, which has operated the schools since 2012; Ken Gavin, emcee of the event and chief communications officer for the Philadelphia Archdiocese; and Sister Maureen Lawrence McDermott, I.H.M., chief academic officer and superintendent of secondary schools for the archdiocesan Office of Catholic Education.
