In a recent homily, Father Joseph LoJacono, pastor of St. Veronica and St. Hugh of Cluny Parishes in Philadelphia, shared how Jesus’ ascension prepares us for the Holy Spirit.

Traditionally, many faithful begin a novena to the Holy Spirit between the Ascension and Pentecost, praying with the Apostles for nine days to the Holy Spirit, in order to receive his gifts and to know him better.

Baptized with fire, we can make the Word flesh in the world through our words and actions, says Father LoJacono.
