Many find themselves confused by Jesus’ declaration that he came to bring not peace, but division (Lk 12:51).

In his homily for the Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time, Father Joseph LoJacono, pastor of St. Veronica and St. Hugh of Cluny Parishes in Philadelphia, shares how strife originates not from God’s will, but from man’s rejection of it.

The Lord’s call does not allow for compromise with the world; rather, it is an all-or-nothing surrender to the divine plan.
