Hundreds of faithful from across the Archdiocese of Philadelphia celebrated World Mission Sunday Oct. 20 with a special Mass and activities at the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul. Before the Mass celebrated by Archbishop Charles Chaput, many of the participants prayed the rosary focusing on the five regions of the world where the church’s missionary activity is taking place. Afterward people gathered to enjoy a luncheon with an international flavor. The events capped the worldwide Extraordinary Month of Mission in the church, and the past year dedicated to missionary activity in the Philadelphia Archdiocese. (Photos by Sarah Webb)
