Archbishop Charles Chaput will preside at an interfaith prayer service in honor of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, Jan. 20, 6 p.m. at Our Mother of Consolation Parish in Philadelphia’s Chestnut Hill section.
The service extends the the U.S. bishops’ initiative to heal racism, “Open Wide Our Hearts: The Enduring Call to Love.”
The evening’s homilist will be Msgr. Federico A. Britto, pastor of St. Cyprian Parish and St. Ignatius Parish, both in Philadelphia.
The gathering will begin at 6 p.m. with a prelude and reflections, with the service itself commencing at 6:30 p.m.
A reception immediately following the service will take place at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, across the street from Our Mother of Consolation Church.
Our Mother of Consolation Parish is located at 9 E. Chestnut Hill Avenue in Philadelphia.
