Event Description
You are invited to attend the next American Catholic Historical Society’s Spotlight on Local History on Sunday, February 9, 2020. The society’s house opens at 1:30 p.m. and the talk begins at 2 p.m. The event is free and open to the public and a light reception will follow.
In this talk, John Kelly of the National Park Service will explore the life and legacy of Commodore John Barry, one of the most celebrated Irish Americans in Philadelphia. Kelly will discuss Barry’s contributions to the cause of American freedom and the Irish American community that he inhabited and helped to shape.
