The St. Peter Respect Life Committee of St. Peter Parish in West Brandywine is sponsoring a retreat for high school-age young women to discuss what it means to be a young, dynamic, Catholic woman in today’s world.
The retreat will introduce St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body and what it means for your life.
“Wonderfully Made: A Theology of the Body Retreat for High School Girls” will be held Friday, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. to Sunday, Feb. 7 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary of Providence Center, Elverson.
The retreat leader is Samantha Kelley, a young Catholic woman trained in teaching the Theology of the Body and the founder and president of FIERCEAthlete.org.
The speaker is Marie DiCecco, a high school health educator for the past 35 years who will speak on “Women’s Health in Conformity with Theology of the Body.”
Several Sisters of Life will be attending, speaking and leading small groups, and priests will include Dominican Father Timothy Danaher and Legionaries of Christ Father Reuben Nuxoll.
The cost of $125 per person, with scholarships available, includes meals each day.
