Young adults from across the Philadelphia region gathered Saturday, April 24 for the Cassock Classic, an Ultimate Tournament of low-contact, football-style Frisbee competition held on the grounds of St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, Wynnewood.
Twelve teams of men and women representing Catholic young adult groups plus college campus Newman Centers and a team from St. Charles Seminary played in the tournament sponsored by the Vocation Office for the Diocesan Priesthood and coordinated by seminarian Greg Miller of Sacred Heart Parish in Royersford. In addition to St. Charles’ own team, other seminarians met new friends by joining the other teams.
The day began with Mass in St. Martin’s Chapel, with Archbishop Nelson Perez as celebrant along with Father Carlos Keen of the Penn-Drexel Newman Center and Father Stephen DeLacy, director of the vocations office. Matt Davis, director of the archdiocesan Office for Ministry with Young Adults, spoke to all the participants.
At the end of the day Drexel University’s team emerged as the tournament champion and CYACC, the Catholic Young Adults of Chester County, won the Spirit Award for showing the most enthusiasm. (Photos by Sarah Webb)
