Students in the textile arts program at St. Hubert Catholic High School for Girls showed off their creations during a May 16 fashion at the Philadelphia Union League at Torresdale Country Club.

The event capped an academic year upended by COVID restrictions, but despite the many challenges they faced (including learning to sew while studying remotely), the Bambies “proved they were leaders of faith and integrity,” said St. Hubert president Lizanne Pando.

Delaney Butler created an “upcycled” dress from a men’s shirt she purchased at a thrift store.

Emily Livewell displayed a pillow she had made from the housecoat of her grandmother, who died of COVID in December 2020.
Acclaimed broadcaster and St. Hubert board member Pat Ciarrocchi, who served as master of ceremonies at the school’s May 16 fashion show, said “grace is the font of creativity.”
Mary Green, a St. Hubert graduate who taught clothing design at the school for 26 years, attended the May 16 fashion show with granddaughter Emma Grace.
Designer Jillian Smith, who teaches at St. Hubert Catholic High School for Girls, credits her own textile arts education at that school for her career formation.
Emma Grace Bernacki, granddaughter of retired St. Hubert clothing instructor Mary Green, took to the runway with determination at the school’s May 16 fashion show.
